The following images were made with large format Polaroid 55 positive/negative film using a 4x5" Linhof monorail studio camera in the field.
Using the peel-apart film allowed me to give a paper image to the people I had photographed while keeping a negative for future printing.
The photographs were taken during a year-long road trip through the Sahara and West Africa from 1977 through 1978.
